Care Concept Scholarship for refugees - Yousefs fifth report

End of semester

Hello everyone,

this is unfortunately the last report from me telling you about my activities in September.

Exams and renovation work

Yousef Berlin This month was the last phase of the stressful work of the semester. First of all, at the beginning of the month I said goodbye to my brother who went back to Denmark. Then I started to do some repairs in the house. I had to replace some light switches, then a dimmer switch for the front door was broken. I got a new switch for that and changed it as well. Then came the big project from my landlord. We were supposed to renew the whole terrace of the house. First we started to make measurements. Unfortunately, it didn't work out to order new slabs. Therefore, we had to postpone our project for a short time. Instead, I had the time to concentrate on my exams. The exams are of different difficulty, so I had to start with the most difficult one, because it takes most of the time. The module is called "Electrical Power Systems." This module is about calculating the different types of short circuit currents as well as identifying and choosing the types of protection of the grid. I hope to pass it with a good grade.

The search for an internship

Yousef Berlin At the same time I prepared my application documents to apply for an internship. First I searched in several search engines like StepStone and LinkedIn. After a few days, unfortunately, I received the first rejection. I didn't give up and kept searching. After that I got an email for an event from my lecturer. I went there with a fellow student. We met several employers there in person. There was a free photo shoot for application photos. There was also advice on resume and interviewing which I found very helpful for me.

Good news

Yousef Berlin And just as I am writing this report I received an email with good news. A very successful company has invited me for an interview and if everything works out, I will be hired there.

Wish me luck and se you for my final video
