This month I had the opportunity to travel to Munich to visit my brother, who recently moved there from Stockholm after 10 years! And wow Munich... everything there reminds me of Vienna. The Architecture, people’s lifestyle and even the food! It was the first time after a year that I really felt that I am actually living in Germany.
I spent 2 days at my brother’s place in a very posh neighbourhood, which after 2 days got very boring. But we managed to go camping in charming mountains around Munich. As I cannot enjoy them in Berlin, I really missed the mountains. We hiked to the Peek of Kochel am See and spent 2 nights and 3 days in that area. It was only us and the nature... such a blessing.
People in Munich are different from Berlin. However, I assume everywhere in Germany is very different from what is going on in Berlin. People’s outfits in Munich were something that reminded me of how I appreciate the simplicity of Berlin. I am pretty sure that there is some alternative wave in Munich as well, but still Berlin is something else. As far as I understood, the company BMW is running the city here 🙂 ).
Something was very fascinating in Munich for me: The stream coming from the mountains directly to the city and its very interesting view of surfers in the river. And yes, of course I jumped in and enjoyed floating in the pure cold water.
There is a Persian saying which says: Travelling makes you appreciate “home”. Coming back to Berlin and have all those familiar feelings made me feel home again. Living in Berlin for me is like being in a relationship :D Sometimes I get so fed up with all the dirty streets and loud traffic noises, that I start craving some distance from it, but after a short time, I miss it a lot and want to go back... Such a poetic loop 😀
