Sascha's letter of motivation

Hi everyone im Sascha!
I am currently a 3-rd year Russian-based bachelor student specialising in supply chain management. Aspiration to take part in an international exchange experience has been of a particular importance to me from the very first days on campus. As an open-minded, adventures-seeking and global-cooperation-believing human I have always been inclined to believe that exchange program may contribute greatly to my academic track, mental health, identity and career perspectives.

For the past 2 years time I have been feeling ready to exhale the knowledge I have once obtained throughout my entire life and thus have been feeling the urge to help knowledge-seeking learners overcome language anxiety by having regular classes with them. Thus through the education and enlightenment I see my intention to help combat global challenges and contribute to the people and planet. Having an opportunity to study SCM abroad in one of the world’s best universities – TUM – is undoubtedly once in a life-time chance I do not think I should elaborate further on. Throughout the semester I wish to attend a few courses on sustainable economics and SCM so as to later on contribute professionally to battling climate crisis.

Combined with the campus location in one of the world’s most generally acknowledged comfortable cities – Munich – I may nothing but wish to realise this academic desire. Being a digital native has always given me a clear perspective of using social media as a platform for fostering openness, collaboration, creativity, equity of access and trust. To my mind, it is only through empathy, open-mindedness and authenticity that we may preserve democracy in the information era of ‘metaverses’.

An exchange experience to me is the epitome of broadening the mind, falling in love with the world and its people. Thus I’m planning to share the insights i will be exposed to during the semester on both instagram and my telegram channel (or any other platform I will have access to) so as to help people see things from a slightly different angle and maybe motivate some to decide on travelling the world themselves which I will undoubtedly consider the best outcome.

The last message I wish to convey with this letter is the reasoning behind my desire to participate in the Care Concept Scholarship competition. Coming from a Russian-based uni I didn’t have an opportunity to get any type of funding: even Russia’s best university HSE doesn’t provide any financial aid to exchange students no matter the academic results or extracurricular activities. And after Crimea-annexation dramatic devaluation of Russian currency spending even a single semester abroad becomes really costly and to a great extent unaffordable. Consequently, I would be happier than ever in case of being chosen the suitable candidate.
