Doctoral studies

If, after completing your Master's degree, you would still like to pursue a higher academic title and continue your education, you have the option of completing a doctoral program. Doctoral programs are only offered by universities. As a graduate of a university of applied sciences, however, you also have the option of taking up a relevant subject-related doctoral program at a university.

Titles

You can obtain the following titles after your doctorate:

• Doctor of Technical Sciences (Dr. techn.)
• Doctor of Social and Economic Sciences (Dr. rer. soc. oec.)
• Doctor of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. Nat.)

Health insurance for the semester in Austria

Health insurance for the semester in Austria. You definitely need health insurance for your semester in Austria. The German statutory health insurance funds only reimburse treatment costs within the EU at the level that would have been incurred in Germany. Outside the EU, no costs will be reimbursed. Also a return transport to Germany is not covered - neither from the EU nor from abroad. It is therefore worth taking out an additional international health insurance policy that covers treatment costs and return transport.
