My exams in France are finally over. Except for one course in international law, which I graded 1.3 in Germany, all my courses were graded 1.0. Since the French Grande École is known for its high standards in research methodology, I did not expect an overall grade of 1.0 at the prestigious Sciences Po Toulouse.
I am also pleased to have been offered a full scholarship to the University of Oxford Summer School in European Studies and to have been invited to write some opinion articles for the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan. Thanks to these international recognitions, I feel more confident about my academic achievements.
In my first report, I mentioned my desire to visit Aeroscopia, the famous aerospace museum in Blagnac. Since June, some museums in France have reopened. I am glad to have the opportunity to visit Aeroscopia and some art museums before I leave.
Although I know nothing about aerospace engineering, the museum offers a wide range of information related to my field, such as the geographical location of Airbus and aircraft factories in Europe and the division of labor on the continent. Hamburg, Bremen and Stade, for example, are responsible for the production of the front and rear fuselage sections and vertical stabilizers. And Toulouse is the headquarters for the engine pylons and final assembly.
On my last opportunity to enjoy French cuisine, I treated myself to a "Cheat Month." The cassoulet au confit de canard et de porc of Toulouse, le banoffee, pain au chocolat or chocolatine, the names of which my friends from the south insisted on, etc. My last month in France is definitely the best month of my semester abroad.
The end of my exam period means that the end of my Erasmus stay in Toulouse is approaching. Everything has an end. I have a mixed feeling. It is never easy to say goodbye to the people I have met and the lifestyle I have become accustomed to. At the same time, I am looking forward to reorienting myself in Germany.
It has been a very rewarding semester. And I am very grateful for all the experiences I was able to have in France.
