Getting things ready
As we all probably heard already, the visa process can be quite difficult, that long lasting wait to have the trip assured felt endless. Meanwhile, I was getting things ready, finding dorms in Múnich, registration for courses, packing and enjoying my last days in Mexico.
The day that my visa arrived, everything changed and felt real. I booked my flight and left in the next 5 days.
Leaving home
Changes are always challenging. Saying goodbye to my loving family and friends was truly sentimental. Leaving all the comforts and starting a new life far away from my hometown sounds overwhelming. Nevertheless, I am ready to start experiencing new adventures and enjoy every second of it.
The flight and arrival
Just like in the movies, turning my head back and saying that last goodbye to my family at the airport, jumping into the plane and getting my head thinking. The flight was quite long, but inevitably, during all the flight my mind was just thinking about how grateful I am of being able to live this, but also thinking about the possible difficulties I could face. Nevertheless, my excitement was the one keeping up!
Upon arrival I realised that after such a long wait, I was finally in Germany. Hearing german on the streets for the first time, trying to find my train station and using a train for the first time, was all shocking but amazing for me!
After 18 hours, I got home safely. A lovely student dorm at Freising, Germany.
New beginnings
I can’t believe I am about to live what I have been longing for my entire life. So far, my experience has been incredible. I am amazed by the beauty of buildings, streets and nature in this country. Something I am truly enjoying about Munich is its international life. I have met people from all over the world in just a few days!
I can’t wait to keep writing about how my life is going in my new home, Germany.
