Sara's letter of motivation

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to apply for the Care Concept Scholarship for Refugees. I am very pleased to introduce myself to you. My name is Sara Jbili and I have been in Germany for four years. My family and I had to flee from Aleppo in Syria.

I became aware of your scholarship on your website and I am very interested in it. Your motto "We take care of you" is a sentence of deep meaning for me personally. Many people can develop very well, but only with a little support. That is how I have experienced it myself. Since I have been in Germany, I have received a lot of support, for example from my godmother, my family, my acquaintances and friends, and I still receive it. Without the motto "We take care of you" I would not have achieved much of what I wanted to achieve. That is why the motto touched my heart so much when I read it and made me remember how much support from others has contributed to my successes. In the last four years I have learned German so well and arrived here so well that I passed my Abitur this year with a very good grade.

I can identify one hundred percent with your values of honesty, helpfulness and tolerance. Supporting other people is very important to me, because I know how hard it is to do anything without the help of others. Therefore, professionally I would like to work in an area where I can support and help people, such as medicine. In order to achieve this goal, I have been doing voluntary service at the UKE (University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf) since the beginning of August. I really wanted to work in a hospital because it gives me the opportunity to be there for other people.

I was also motivated by the fact that I will gain a lot of experience in the medical and social fields. One of my strengths is that I am open, not shy, courageous and social. These qualities have already helped me to make contacts and learn German and will certainly help me in my future job. I also enjoy working in a team because it helps me to improve my language skills and develop personally. Your values therefore match mine very well.

I strongly believe that with kindness and love everything can be achieved and I want to do my part. I sincerely hope that you can support me on my journey. Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to you. I would be very happy to receive a positive response from you.
