Difficulties of online studies

Sara Alessandra Currently, the semester is coming to an end and only the exams are left. Unfortunately, nothing has changed in the current situation. It has remained with the online classes and the university I have seen since then only briefly when borrowing books in the library. It makes me very sad, because I liked the faculties incredibly well and I can learn best in the university. Unfortunately, there are hardly any opportunities to sit down and experience the university as a nice place to learn. I also really miss the lack of contact with other fellow students. Especially as a foreign student, it is difficult to settle in in Salzburg when everything possible is tried to be replaced by distance formats. Unfortunately, no one can do anything about this situation except the virus. Nevertheless, I tried to make the best of it.

On the road in Salzburg

Sara Alessandra So most of my day was spent at my desk, with exams waiting for me. I often went ice skating, because the ice skating rink in Salzburg was really beautiful and gave me a piece of normality back. I also always love to walk around Salzburg and enjoy the landscape, the air and the architecture. I'm totally enchanted by the city every time and because of its size, you can do a lot of things on foot instead of by train or bus, for which I am incredibly grateful and what I appreciate here every day more.

Living in a shared apartment

Sara Alessandra I am especially happy in the situation to live in a shared apartment and to have at least some contact with others and not be completely lonely. I think moving into a shared apartment would be something I would recommend to every international student, just to make contacts and have as much exchange with others as possible. I was also very lucky with my roommates and made new friends.

I am already very excited about the last weeks in Salzburg and hope that I can experience as much as possible before it goes back home to Bremen.

See you very soon,
Sara Alessandra Scheibel
